Proverbs 22:1 says: “A good name
is rather to be chosen than great riches...” |

“I am 54 years old with 6 years of college. She was the most wonderful, patient, and spiritual teacher I had the priviledge to sit under. I still reflect on some of the classes she taught me, Theology I, Acts, American History - they became alive when she taught as she encouraged one to continue forward in God's work. I miss her. She had the Gifts! ” — Jerry Hutchinson . Gray, Louisiana. “The fourteen years I have spent in Springfield have been enriched by the friendship and association I have had with Dr. Opal Reddin. I considered her one of the most gifted preachers and expositors of the Word of God I have ever known. I regret that we did not have the opportunity to co-author a book on TRUTH, which we had discussed. I consider Opal Reddin the epitome of truth. With her departure to be with the Lord, we have lost a true defender of our Pentecostal doctrine and history, a clear voice for conservative academic scholarship, and an exponent and model of genuine Pentecostal experience. To those who knew her she was the quintessential lady and scholar. Impeccable in dress and manner, though small in stature, she was a giant in the Word of God and the things of God. With her absence there is a void in Springfield. But we rejoice at the thought of meeting her again on Heaven's shores.” — James K. Bridges. Springfield, Missouri. “After coming out of a most un-Biblical parachurch organization I lived for several years with fear and felt emotionally messed up. It wasn't until I came across Dr. Reddin's book on 'Power Encounter A Pentecostal Perspective' that I realized that the Lord had been showing me the truths of His Word and the deception which was out there. Her book, which I realize was a compilation by many authors, had been a staple of building me up in the Scriptures and gave me a renewing of my spirit in all confidence in the Lord. Today I am functioning in the work of the ministry, knowing that the power of God's Spirit keeps us from all evil. I was saddened to hear of sister Reddin's departure from this world but had a chance, before she went, to call her and thank her for her book; and some day we will talk more about how good God was while we traveled through this preparation ground which will lead us to glory. Praise The Lord.” — Peter Doyne. Ontario, Canada. “I had
the pleasure of living with Dr. Reddin while her husband, Tom, was still
living. He was an evangelist, therefore
he was away quite often. Living with her was a blend of laughter and tears,
as she believed in truly living each moment of life as if it were your
last. Her first love was her Lord, and then her family. Any mention of
her children and grandchildren would bring a proud smile to her face, and
later, after I was married and had my own family, she would speak of her
great-grandchildren. Yes, my 'Auntie O' was a woman a prayer.
Many nights I would hear her praying in her room, as her conversations
with her Lord were as real as those one might have with a best friend.
God's Word was her strength and the precious Holy Spirit was truly her
comforter, to 'cushion' her during the time that her earthly
body was in pain. The Holy Spirit, I believe, also softly began to harmonize
with her as she would hum...'I shall know Him, I shall know Him, as
REDEEMED by His side I shall stand..' and the music soon filled all
of Heaven when Auntie O entered. I am one of the many who hold dear each
word of His Word largely because of my Aunt. Thank you so much for the
opportunity to join with others to give thanks to the Lord for my lovely-in-every-way
Auntie O.” “Dr. Reddin was a great inspiration to me and although we never met face to face, we became good friends via internet and by telephone. My wife Marsha and I have lived in Italy now for over 30 years. I have preached all over Italy from the top of the Alps to the toe and heel of the Italian boot. Working in a country such as Italy, with tremendous religious confusion, there were many times I would need to consult mature people of God for counsel, and one such person was Opal Reddin. Opal was very sensitive to the voice of the Spirit and very discerning regarding biblical truth as opposed to religious tradition and what amounts in many cases here in Italy as 'deceiving spirits'. Matthew 24:24. Sometimes we shared in confronting difficult spiritual battles. We exchanged information and prayer requests. One of the great reasons that our movement of the Assemblies of God is keeping on track with the right emphasis of biblical truth without compromise and pentecostal renewal is because of the strong influence and teaching of Dr. Opal Reddin. Sola Scrittura, Sola fide, Sola Grazia, Solum Jesus Nomine, Solum Jesus Sanguine.” — Terry Peretti. Rome, Italy. “While I never met Sister Opal personally, we corresponded with each other many times prior to her homecall. She was a great encouragement to me when I published my book, 'The Biblical Testing of Teachings and Manifestations'. She reviewed the transcript prior to publication and was most generous and encouraging in her comments and commendation. She was a fervent contender for the Truth, and must be remembered as being one of the outstanding classical Pentecostals of our era. She has laid down her armour and gone to her reward. It is for us to be inspired by her godliness and devotion, and maintain uncompromising in these apostate times. I must donate some copies of my book to the Library in her honour.” — Rev. Aeron Morgan, former G/S of the British AOG, now resident in Australia. “Thank you for sharing this information regarding the Opal Reddin Library. She was a remarkable Christian lady and a powerful woman of the Word. This is certainly an honor to her name and continuing legacy.” — James Bridges. General Treasurer of the Assemblies of God. “I was first introduced to the Dr. Reddin when I received the 2000 Spring edition of the CBC Bulletin Magazine. I was tremendously impacted by the article written by her, and have cited it many times since. Little did I know then that I would have the privilege of corresponding and speaking with, as well as visiting with her in her home just days before her departure into glory. She has left an indelible mark on my life and ministry.” — Rev. Jeffrey L. Whittaker. Pastor, Niles, Michigan. “I appreciated the ministry of Opal. We had much correspondence as we compared notes and questions on scripture. She stood up for Biblical integrity when her denomination was compromising with the truth and falling into the trap of ecumenism.” — Bill Scudder. Dayton, Ohio. |
